	Why should I know my sample's boiling, melting, or decomposition point?
	Some sample-preparation procedures call for the sample to be melted or heated in order to improve its solubility. Obviously, you want to be certain that your compound does not boil away or decompose, or that the procedure calls for a temperature high enough to melt the material.
